29/10/09: Second Failure

This is turning into the fail blog. As you might or might not know, I have been going to the gym for like two hours a day, every day. I am dedicated to it, because I don't want to be fat, and it is actually nice to do some exercise. It relieves blah blah blah blah. Im sure you have heard it all before, so I won't bore you to death. I will tell you about my magnificent failure, though.
Yesterday as I was leaving work, one of my coworkers stopped me and asked where I was going. I said that I was going to the gym and then home, and he looked at me funny. He wanted to know why I wasn't going to the work dinner. I explained that no one told me about any work dinner. So of course he says that he just did and that I should come.
Being that I have a strong personal objection to ever passing up free food, I agreed and returned to my desk. Unfortunately, the dinner started at 5:30 and I finish work at 4:00, so I had some sitting around to do. No big deal, though, because it gave me some time to stimulate my appetite. I had no idea where we were going, but I did know that the school always takes us to nice places, so I wanted to be ready when we got there.
Usually we go to meat or sushi places, and that was what I was expecting. I asked the coworker where we were going, and he vaguely responded that we would go to a fish restaurant. I assumed he meant sushi, but it turned out to be different. We went to a place called Marisco (마리스꼬), which is an all you can eat seafood buffet.
Here is where I failed, but with a glimmer of win. Normally when I go to a buffet, I am so worried about getting my money's worth that I end up choking and not eating enough. However, this time, since I was free from the restraints of paying for it, my stomach was ready to go. I killed four full plates of food and followed it up with a desert plate. Not to mention the bottle or so of soju that I slugged down at the same time. So, my fail is that instead of going to the gym and burning calories, I ate a 4,000 calorie dinner. Fail! The win is that I totally dominated the buffet, I wish there was someone there to congratulate me for my effort. Win!
